Rompers - For Women!

Rompers are not just for little girls and boys!!!  Romper style is very much "in" right now and I have three bloggers to share with you!
When I saw Caroline post a request looking for a women's romper PDF pattern I immediately messaged her and asked her to let me know what she used so I could talk about it during Romper Week!  She finished her post this week and you can read about it here!
 SewCaroline.com // Simplicity 1355
Although not a PDF pattern, it still turned out so cute and through her comment section of her post I did find an available PDF pattern for a romper/playsuit!
Salme Sewing Patterns (and a review by Sew Pamona
I found Sew Pamona's review through reading the comments in Caroline's post and I LOVE this pattern!  I've never heard of Salme Sewing Patterns before (granted, I don't sew for myself) but I am tempted to after visiting their site!
Paisley Salme Playsuit, TMS, Sew Pomona
I love the curtain Rebecca used for the project!  Go read her review of the Salme Playsuit here!

Day 5 - Romper Week

We made it to the end!!!  But don't worry, you will get a round-up post from me this weekend as well as highlighting some rompers for WOMEN!!!  We can't be left out of the romper fun!

Thank you to everyone that has linked up!  Voting begins tomorrow so make sure your romper project is in the Link Up Party (HERE) and recruit all of your family and friends to come vote for you!  I can't wait to see who the top 3 will be!  Good luck to you all!

Now, on to today's rompers!  We have my dear friend Veronica of sewVery and Al from the Shaffer Sisters!

Veronica has been busy at her sewing machine and just released a free dress pattern sizes 5-6-7 on her blog!  It's called the Sunny Dress and it is so cute!  For Romper Week I love the Zephyr romper she made for her daughter!

And Al made a romper with an amazing collar!  I love vintage inspired collars like this!  I can't wait to read all about the creation!  It reminds me of the Josephine from Violet Fields Threads!  I would know since I had to FLIP that pattern for the FLIP contest! Ha!  Shaffer Sisters, do I get extra points for guessing the pattern before I read about it!?! *wink*

That's it!  If you missed any of our series you can catch up here!

I will have a post for you this weekend with a round up and don't forget to get your projects in the Link Up Party!!!

Day 4 - Romper Week

I can't believe Day 4 is here already!  Have you been linking up to the Link Party to share your creations and possibly win a prize?!  CLICK HERE to read all about the giveaways!  And if you missed Day 3, Day 2, or Day 1 make sure you check them out!

Today we have Stephanie of Swoodson Says sharing her ADORABLE red white and blue romper!!!  I can't wait to read about this romper and see if she discloses where she got that fabric!  I love it!  I may have to stock up on some for next year!  Stephanie is one of the most encouraging bloggers I've met and she always seems to take time to leave comments on blog posts for kids clothes!  It's so much fun to learn about other moms that have a passion for sewing!

We also have Stacey from Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy sharing a last minute project with us!  Stacey was one of the first blogs I found when I started sewing for Christian when he was a year old!  I bought the book "Sewing For Boys" after reading Stacey's series on the projects!  I can't wait to see the rest of this hooded harem romper!

Day 3 Romper Week

It's Day 3 of Romper Week!!!  Check out Day 2 and Day 1 if you missed it!

Today we have an encore presentation with 2 more boy rompers!!!

Amy of Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop and Lindsay of Craft Buds have done an awesome job to showcase the cuteness of rompers on little boys!  They both have the sweetest babies and seeing pictures of their little ones makes me have a bit of baby fever!

Up first, Amy has created a FREE PATTERN!!!   And like I said yesterday with Jess' pattern, this style was always my go-to when I dressed my little boy.  One piece outfits were so much easier than having to dress in coordinating shorts/shirt - especially for just around the house type days!

Check out Amy's post and get the pattern for free HERE!

Lindsay is one of my real life blogger friends and always has amazing quilts and craft projects on her blog Lindsay Sews or her companion blog Craft Buds!  She also writes for Craftsy and Craft Foxes and has a very popular quilt book called The Modern Bee!

Come read about her romper HERE!

See you tomorrow with two more amazing bloggers!!!

Day 2 - Romper Week

Up first, Jess has created the cutest little knit shortall romper!  When Christian was a baby these were my go-to type of outfits for him!  Only having to mess with one article of clothing was much easier on my laundry - even though he did go through several changes a day!  And a BONUS - there is a FREE 12 month size digital pattern for you to download!!!

Next up is the incredibly talented Melissa of Sew Like My Mom!  I remember when I first found her blog while doing searches on pillowcase dress tutorials!  I think Melissa's is hands down the best tutorial I have ever seen and always recommend it to new sewists who want to create an easy and cute dress for their daughter!  The romper she made for Romper Week is showing off more baby boy cuteness!!!  I'm pretty sure I recognize the pattern as the Kudzu Coveralls that Melissa has in her pattern shop!  I created a romper for Eva Mae with the pattern and it is AWESOME!

I'm looking forward to sharing the projects with you tomorrow!  I hope you join us!

Terry Cloth Romper - Romper Week 2014

I have a very sweet post to share with you today!  As you know, we are officially kicking off "Romper Week" on Monday with Call Ajaire and House of Estrela!
If you missed the introductory information, this year we have a TON of prizes and a contest!  CLICK HERE to open a new window and read about it!

Since this week I'm highlighting my blogging friends, I wanted to kick off the series with my own post!  And I knew several months ago what I would tackle...... a flashback romper!

This is me around 2 or 3 years old with Bridgett, our Irish Setter!  We are standing outside my grandma's house and I'm dressed in the terry cloth romper that my grandma made me!  (She made sooo many of our clothes when we were little!  See this tribute post about her!)

I knew when I found this picture at my mom's house that I needed to re-create the outfit for Eva Mae!

Although I couldn't get it just right with the background of houses and the doggy, I did try to style her hair with some curls and position her with the sunlight coming in the same direction!

I thought it was so neat when I came back to edit these photos that the little flap of the v-neck was resting in the same position as my old photo!

The drafting took a little bit of time to get the proportions.  The first romper I made was too wide and the waist was too low.  After I fixed those ratios I went in search of a mint green towel to try again!

I was so excited to put it on her and see it fit perfectly!  If you want to try it out with written directions and pattern pieces for a skinny 2T I am happy to send it to you!  Unfortunately I didn't take any photos during the process since I wasn't sure if it would work out or not!  I will add this pattern to my "to-do" list of designs I need to draft and grade!

And everyone loves an outtake shot, right?

This was the face I got when she was tired of me taking her picture!  She just wanted to go play!!!

Happy girl!!!

We walked over to our neighborhood playset and she was right as rain!  In fact, this little area is perfect for photos and the sunlight was just right that I didn't edit any of these!  The white swing set, blue sky, and green grass give a warm summer feel to all of these pictures!

You can see in the picture above how I tried to re-create my baby curls!  Christian was my curly headed baby!  Eva Mae's hair is much more fine (and longer) than mine at this age!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you'll come back Monday morning to join us for our Romper Week celebration!  Get your sewing machine going and share your favorite romper creation in the link-up party!
